About Cycling Express
We are an Australian owned and operated business that have a combined 20 years experience working and sourcing quality products worldwide within the international bicycle industry.
Over the past eleven years we have developed key relationships to enable the launch of cycling express.com an Internet based bicycle retailer, distributor and wholesaler.
Because of our important partnerships overseas and within Australia, we are able to compete globally; thus giving the best possible benefit to our customers through our international buying power.
Put simply, we’ve gone about creating this new vision so that we can give Aussies and Kiwi’s more bang for their buck!
- In 1999 we started a business in a garage in the Sydney suburb of West Ryde
- We started an online bicycle store in 2000.
- In 2000 we opened our first warehouse direct to the public in Sydney.
- In 2002 we opened our second warehouse direct to the public in Canberra.
- In 2002 we started displaying bicycles in shopping centers, and we were the first to create mini bicycle retail shop fronts which traveled all over Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. We displayed these at 6 unique shopping centers each week.
- In 2003 we opened a third warehouse direct to the public in Melbourne.
- In 2004 we started selling to independent bicycle retailers throughout Australia and Asia pacific.
- In 2004 we also created the AZZURRI brand of bicycles that we then trademarked worldwide.
- In 2004 we sold our Sydney and Canberra warehouses to focus on the AZZURRI brand.
- In 2004 we also started building custom branded bikes for various customers. We supplied 6500 custom branded bicycles to an organisation to support a 9 day bike ride across Victoria. We also supplied 800 bikes to Variety children's charity.
- In 2005 we opened a Taiwan globally trading office.
- In 2006 we opened a specialty frame painting factory in Taiwan.
- In 2006 we incorporated quality control personnel in our company structure.
- In 2009 we started distribution throughout our Taiwan bicycle network.
- In 2010 we supplied over 40,000 custom bicycles to various organisations for various purposes. Bicycles ranged from basic level promotional bikes to high-end carbon road bikes. Companies supplied to included BHP Biliton, Bicycle Victoria, Variety Australia, Rides in South Africa, Church group The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints and we also improved on the AZZURRI brand.
- In 2010 we began to develop the Cycling Express concept, focusing on supplying the worlds best brands of bicycle parts, accessories and bicycles to the consumer at world competitive prices.
- In 2011 June. We launched cyclingexpress.com to the market.
- In 2011 we partnered with a leading clothing manufacturer to offer custom cycling clothing to organisations, companies and consumers, at globally competitive prices. Low minimum quantites from 1 piece.
